Last February 1,2007, at 6:15am Bishop Emeritus Generoso Camiña, DD died after a long bout with liver cancer and diabetes in San Pedro Hospital at the age of 75.

He took his retirement from the Diocese of Digos last February 11, 2003 due to health reasons. He was ordained to the priesthood under the congregation of the Canadian Foreign Missionaries or PME on June 30, 1962. He was appointed Titular Bishop of Pauzera and Auxiliary Bishop of Davao on March 9, 1978. He was appointed as the first Bishop of Digos on December 20, 1979 and installed on February 11, 1980.

His remains lies in the Home of the Clergy, Dona Aurora Street, Digos City. From February 1-9, 2007 masses and funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Home of the Clergy from 9am, 3pm and 8pm. A funeral mass will be held in San Isidro Labrador Parish on February 9 at 2pm before his body will be transfer to the Mary Mediatrix of all Graces Cathedral. The internment will be on February 10, 2007 after a funeral rites at 2pm
